Women’s Soccer Returns Home Against SFA, Sam Houston

Live Video  |  Live Stats  |  Digital Program

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team returns home for the final three games of the regular season, beginning with Stephen F. Austin Friday at 5 p.m. at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.

Both Friday and Sunday matches are the opener of a doubleheader with the men's team. Fans coming to the women's game can watch two matches for the price of one if they stick around to support the men, who host Western Athletic Conference foes San Jose State and CSU Bakersfield. Tickets to UIW soccer are $5.

OPENING KICK

SFA leads the all-time series, 3-2-1, after spotting UIW a 2-0-0 series lead with victories in 1996 and 1997. Last season, the Ladyjacks came away with a 2-0 victory in Nacogdoches, Texas, on Oct. 23.

The Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak to SHSU, with a 4-1 victory in Huntsville, Texas, on Oct. 21, 2016. The match with the Bearkats is huge for both teams: SHSU is tied for the eighth and final playoff spot, and UIW still has an opportunity for the SLC playoffs.
