San Antonio, Texas – The UIW men's basketball team opens a three-game home stand Saturday against HBU. First tip is scheduled for 3 p.m. from the McDermott Convocation Center.
OPENING TIP
UIW holds a decisive 19-2 lead in the all-time series with the Huskies. The Cardinals swept the season series, 97-91 in Houston and 97-86 in the Alamo City. The last time these two teams met, UIW's

Summary: HBU lost its first game at home this season and had its two-game winning streak at a surprisingly hot Central Arkansas team, 89-78. The Bears entered Southland play with the league's worst overall record, but now stand at 3-1 in league action. Colter Lasher led HBU with 19 points, but UCA had three players score 20 or more points and the Bears as a team hit 10 3-pointers.
On the season, Lasher leads the Huskies with 15.9 points per game, followed by Reveal Chukwujekwu with 11.2. Reigning SLC Player of the Week, Josh Ibarra, is averaging 10.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Braxton Bonds is the nephew of MLB's Barry Bonds.

Summary: UIW remained winless on the road following an 87-72 loss to Lamar Wednesday night.
Tyler Singleton finished two points shy of matching his career high, as he led five Cardinals in double figures with 17 points.
Miles Banks registered his first double-double with a career-high 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Shawn Johnson shot 50 percent from beyond the arc en route to 16 points.
Jalin Hart tied his career high of nine rebounds as he scored 10 points, while
Simi Socks scored 14 points.
On the season, Johnson is seventh in the SLC with 16.3 points per game and fourth with 7.4 rebounds per contest. He is third in the SLC with 2.8 three-point field goals made per game, while Socks's 84.1 free-throw percentage ranks him second. Hart is fifth in the conference with a 50.6 field goal percentage, second with 4.8 assists per game, and T-7th with 1.7 steals per game.
Devin Wyatt is T-2nd in the SLC - and 29th nationally - with 2.4 blocked shots per game. On the season, UIW is 10th in the SLC with a -4.3 scoring margin (77.2-81.4) and 11th with a -5.2 rebounding margin (34.6-39.8).
