WACO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team will try to take the good feelings from their 14-4 win over Stephen F. Austin on Sunday into their Tuesday game at Baylor. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Cardinals (11-29) welcomed outfielder
Matt Morris back into the lineup this past weekend after missing 32 games with an injury. He had two doubles, walked twice and scored twice against SFA. Third baseman
Brance Kahle cracked his first homerun of the season over the weekend and leads the team with 25 runs batted in while hitting at a .273 average.
The UIW pitching staff has been led by its top two bullpen arms,
Trevor Hardee and
Lance Moszkowicz. Hardee is 2-0 with a 3.76 ERA and two saves in 26.1 innings. He is holding opponents to a .214 batting average. Moszkowicz is 1-3 with a 3.83 ERA and six saves in 40.0 innings. He picked up a 3-inning save at SFA last week when he held them scoreless in the final game of the series while allowing just one hit.
The Bears (18-22) are just 13-14 at home this year. They are hitting .277 as a team and average over five runs per game. Darryn Sheppard has been the team's most dangerous hitter with a .321 batting average, nine doubles, six homers and 36 RBI's. Matt Menard leads the team with a .340 batting average and a .553 slugging percentage.
Baylor will be starting Austin Stone on the mound. He has made four appearances and pitched just 4.2 innings this year. Overall, the team has a 4.64 earned run average thanks to a strong bullpen. Troy Montemayor is 1-1 with nine saves and a 0.95 ERA in 19.0 innings while Kody Hessemer has a 1.59 ERA in 17.0 innings. Baylor leads the all-time series 3-0 over the Cardinals.
