HOUSTON, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team will try to get back on the right track on Monday night at Southland Conference rival Houston Baptist University at 7 p.m.
The Cardinals (13-11, 8-5) have lost their last three games away from the McDermott Center after winning four of their previous five on the road. The team is averaging 72.1 points per game and is shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from three-point range.
UIW has three players averaging in double figures.
Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) leads the team with 15.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Jontrell Walker (Aurora, IL/West Aurora HS) is averaging 12.2 points per game and he leads the nation in free throw percentage, 93.7 percent.
Derail Green (Houston/Klein Forest HS) is scoring 11.7 points per game and is shooting 46.5 percent from three-point range.
The Huskies (16-11, 10-4) are 12-1 at home this year and are outscoring opponents by 4.1 points per game overall. They are shooting 47.8 percent from the field and hold the opposition to 42.2 percent from the floor. Anthony Odunsi leads the team with 17.5 points and 3.8 assists per game. Colter Lasher and Josh Ibarra are both averaging in double figures. Ibarra leads the squad with 6.6 rebounds per game.
Last year, the two teams split a pair of games last year with each team winning at home.
