San Antonio, Texas – The UIW men's basketball team continues their three-game home stand with a Monday night matchup against the Yellow Jackets of Howard Payne. First tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the McDermott Convocation Center. The game will be shown live on Spectrum Sports Texas, Channel 323. Fans outside of the San Antonio region can watch the game on ESPN3.
OPENING TIP
UIW is 15-3 all-time against HPU. Similar to the St. Edward's game, the tilt will be an exhibition for Division III's Howard Payne.

Summary: Monday marks the third game in as many days for Howard Payne, who opened up the season at the Angelo State Tournament over the weekend. The Yellow Jackets began the season with a bang as Isiah Herrera hit a buzzer beater to give HPU a 66-65 win over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday. Herrera led the Yellow Jackets with 20 points. On Sunday, HPU fell to host ASU, 75-48. Rickey Guillory paced the team with 15 points.
On the season, Herrera paces the Yellow Jackets with 12.5 points per game, followed by Khyce Randall with 11.5 and Guillory with 10.5. Guillory is tops on the glass with 7.0 rebounds per game. HPU has 18 steals in two games, led by Guillory's seven. HPU is shooting 32 percent from the floor compared to 41 percent for the opposition.

Summary: UIW won its 10th-straight home opener in a 93-90 win over St. Edward's Tuesday night.
Jalin Hart was on a clinic, scoring a career-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, and 3-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Shawn Johnson registered his first double-double of the season with 19 points and a game-best 11 rebounds.
Tyler Singleton (13) and
Simi Socks (10) also scored in double figures. The Cardinals shot 52 percent from the floor in the game.
On the season, Johnson is fourth in the Southland Conference with 21.5 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per contest. Hart leads the conference with 6.5 assists per game, while
Devin Wyatt is T-5th with 1.5 blocked shots per game.
