SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team lost 2-1 against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Friday night at Benson Stadium.
How It Happened
The game was off to a steady start; both teams were fighting to make the first goal. Texas A&M Corpus Christi (1-12, 1-5 SLC) got the first point of the night with an own goal with
Haley Nelson in the goal. The Cardinals (3-8-1, 2-4 SLC) tied it up in the second half with a goal by
Karey Tylman and a long cross assist by
Ana Campa.
With the game tied at 1-1 at the end of the second half, the game was forced into over time. Corpus Christi forward Yvette Franco scored the winning goal for her team with 59 seconds left in the first overtime.
