SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball hits the hardwood on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. against visiting Grand Canyon University after a long Christmas break lay-off at the McDermott Center.
The Cardinals (3-7) are playing their final non-conference game before the Southland Conference schedule opens on January 3. UIW is averaging 56.3 points per game while allowing 66.5 points per game.
Aricka Adams (Round Rock/Round Rock HS) leads the team with 13.1 points per game while shooting 43.0 percent from the field.
Yvonne Maosa (Mansfield/Mansfield HS) has been the team's top rebounder with 8.2 per game while chipping in with 7.2 points per game. Freshman
Haley Frias (Georgetown/Georgetown HS) is the top outside threat this year knocking down 22-of-56 from beyond the three-point arc.
The Antelopes (4-7) have also been on an extended Christmas break with no games. They are scoring 57.6 points per game and allowing 59.9 points per game. Jessica Gajewski is the only player on the team averaging in double figures with 10.6 per contest. August Touchard and Courtney Hayes are each averaging 8.3 points per game.
