SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team will welcomes UT–Pan American on Tuesday to the McDermott Convocation Center for a 6 p.m. start.
The Cardinals (8-17, 4-8) are coming off a two match winning streak on the road. UIW defeated New Orleans in four sets 32-30, 25-16, 18-25, 25-15 and followed that with a five-set victory at Abilene Christian. Freshman
Madison Williams (New Braunfels/Canyon HS) was placed in the starting setter role for the first time this year and racked up 113 assists in the two matches. Junior
Angelique Vidaurri (San Antonio/Southwest HS) led the Cardinals will 25 kills against the Wildcats while
Shaina Garza (San Antonio/Warren HS),
Brittani Dear (La Vernia/La Vernia HS) and Williams each had double-doubles.
The Broncs (5-20, 2-9) match against the Cardinals will be their final non-conference of the season before finishing up their Western Athletic Conference schedule. UTPA is on a five match losing streak against. Pan American is posting a .144 attack percentage with 11.5 kills and 14.6 digs per set.
