CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball team travels to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a Southland Conference match on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Cardinals will then travel to Houston Baptist University, to battle against the Huskies on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Islanders (8-7 overall, 3-1 SLC) just took out the Lamar Cardinals in five sets last week. The Islanders boast an excellent setter in Logen Bourque who is averaging 10.31 assists per set.  The does not have a lot of blocks, but do well on the back line with 15.50 digs per set.  UIW is 1-1 all-time against the Islanders.

The Huskies (5-10, 0-3) have lost their last seven matches.  They have five players averaging at least 2.00 kills per set, including Madeline Gaffney who averages 2.81 kills per set with a .313 attack percentage.  UIW is 12-10 all-time against HBU.

The Cardinals are led by 5-10 outside hitter and middle blocker Angelique Vidaurri (San Antonio/Southwest HS) with 132 kills and a .233 attack percentage. Tracking her is Shaina Garza (San Antonio/Warren HS) with 117 kills and .208 attack. In assists, the team looks to Danielle Suarez (San Antonio/Antonian HS) who is averaging 5.74 assists per set.  The Cardinals defense is led by middle blocker Meaghan Patterson (Helotes/O'Connor HS) who is averaging 1.09 blocks per set.
