The Incarnate Word Cardinals suffered a 9-6 loss on Friday night, falling to West Texas A&M on Friday night in Canyon.

UIW fell behind 9-0 before trying to mount a comeback, scoring six runs in the last three innings before running out of outs and the Buffs getting the win.

The loss put Incarnate Word's overall record at 15-6 and their Lone Star Conference record at 13-4.

Kirk Jewasko received his first loss of the season, pitching just five innings.

Matt Roohan's hitting streak is now at 18 games.
