Incarnate Word's Lea Padilla put the bat on the ball last week and in doing so has been named Heartland Conference co-hitter of the week for the time April 5 to April 12.

What she did was be the leader for the Cardinals at the plate when UIW won two of three games from St. Mary's which was atop the conference standings at the time.

In three games Padilla was five out of nine appearances.  Of those five hits four were out of the park as in home runs.  Her slugging percentage for the series was a staggering 1.889. 

She scored five times and she had a total of 10 runs batted in over the weekend.  Additionally, she induced two bases on balls.
