University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

High School:  A two-sport athlete, Homeyer was a member of both the La Vernia volleyball team and track team, while serving as a representative of the La Vernia Track Leadership Council. She was named TGCA Academic All-State, Second Team All-District and All-Area as a member of La Vernia's District Championship team that won the regional semi-finals in 2016-17. She was named Honorable mention All-District and Academic All-District as a junior. A top-10 graduate, Distinguished Academic Scholar, Honor Graduate and AP Scholar, Homeyer was also a member of the National Honor Society. She was involved in Bears Care, National Forensics League, Model United Nationals San Antonio and VASE. Homeyer completed more than 200 hours of community service work with a number of organizations, including Immanuel Lutheran Church, LV Art Attack, Faith Garcia Benefit, St. Ann's Church Festival, JDRF walks to stomp out diabetes and blood drives at La Vernia High School.

Personal:  Daughter of Jeff and Tina Homeyer, Kayla has three brothers, Joshua, Hunter and Christopher. A Rehabilitative Science major, plans to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy,with hopes of becoming a pediatric Physical Therapist at a children's hospital. She has already been accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at UIW. Homeyer was born on Aug. 7, 1999 in San Antonio, Texas.
