Colby Arrington

Colby Arrington joins the UIW Volleyball program in 2021 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. 

Prior to UIW, Arrington spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Appalachian State University. During his time in Boone, he helped the Mountaineers make their fourth straight Sun Belt Tournament appearance and coached three players to All-Sun Belt Conference honors. He coahced the libero to earn First Team All-Sun Belt honors in 2019, after posting 550 digs on the season (fifth all-time in program history).

Arrington spent the 2018 season at William & Mary, where he helped his freshman earn Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team honors.
 
Prior to William & Mary, Arrington was a member of the James Madison University coaching staff in which he held various positions throughout his three-year stint with the program. During the 2017 campaign, the Dukes compiled a 23-6 record.
 
Arrington was an instrumental piece in guiding four players to All-Conference honors, which included three members on the All-CAA Second Team and one member on the CAA All-Rookie Team. Working primarily with defense and serve/pass systems, he also guided his libero to AVCA All-Region Honors.
 
While at JMU, Arrington was also a member of the nationally ranked men's club volleyball program. The Dukes finished in the top 10 during the 2016 National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NVCF) Championships and followed up their successful run by winning the 2017 Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association (ECVA) South Regional Championship. As a libero, Arrington earned NCVF Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2016 and was later named MVP of the ECVA South Region during the 2017 season.
 
Arrington earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport & Recreation Management from JMU in 2017.
