University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

High School:  Martinez played on the volleyball and soccer teams at Nikki Rowe High School.  She was a four-time all-district selection in soccer and finished her career as the school's all-time leader in goals with 73.  She led the team to three Bi-District titles and one Area title.  She played in the Rio Grande Valley East-West All-Star game.  In volleyball, she was a three-time all-district performer and two-time District Defensive Player of the Year.  The volleyball team won two Bi-District championships, one Area title and advance to the Sweet 16 one year.  She was a member of the Naitonal Honor Society and was named the Rotary Girl of the Month.

Personal:  Martinez is the daughter of Johnny and Vilma Martinez and is studying biology/pre-med.  She has a brother, John and a sister, Vanessa.  Her father played golf at St. Mary's and her mother played softball at Incarnate Word.  Her brother played soccer at Southwestern University and her sister played basketball at Lindenwood.
