Biography

2015 (Junior): Stokes continued to be a big part of the Cardinals' defense, playing in 18 games in 2015. She was part of the team that shutout three different opponents during the season. She racked up 907 minutes

2014 (Sophomore): Stokes became a central pillar of the Cardinals defense and was a starter in all 18 games of the season. She led the team with minutes played with an impressive total of 1577 and was essential to a defensive line that earned 3.0 shutouts, all against Southland Conference opponents. In a 0-0 tie against Lamar University, Stokes contributed to limiting the Lady Cardinals to just three shots on goal, while UIW posted a total of six.  She played all but three minutes over the final 10 games of the season.  She fired a shot on goal at Northwestern State.  She was the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping to limit McNeese State and Lamar to a combined five shots on goal in two shutouts.  She was named to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2013 (Freshman): Stokes started in 12 games for the Cardinals and played in all 19 contests. She was one of nine players on the team to play over 1000 minutes. She became an important part of a defensive line up that made a total of seven shutouts on the year.  She was named onto the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School: Stokes was a member of the cross country and soccer teams at John H. Guyer High School. She earned First Team All-District 11-4A and District Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman. She was District 7-5A First Team as a sophomore and junior and the District Defender of the Year in 2012. She earned First Team All-District 11-4A, District Defender of the Year and UIL 4A State All-Tournament Team honors as a senior en route to leading the team to a State title. She was named a Region I All-Star and TASCO All-State First Team selection. She is a three-time Academic All-District selection and has helped her team to the Regional Finals in 2010. She was a member of the North Texas State ’95 ODP Team from 2007-12. She played for the FC Dallas ECNL U18 club team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honors Society.

Personal: Stokes is the daughter of Rod and Dian Stokes and is studying biology with a minor in psychology. She has a brother, Colton. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK.  She was born on March 22, 1995.  She is a member of the Biology Club and Health Professions Club.  She has also volunteered with the San Antonio Food Bank and Go Play Girls.
