Biography
2014 (Junior): Washington played in 10 games for the Cardinals and started in 9 to play a total of 701 minutes. She continued in her defensive role but also made appearances up top for the Cardinals, using her strength to provide a different edge to the offense. She made a total of five shots and three shots on goal in the year.
2013 (Sophomore): Washington started in all of the 18 games that she played in, missing only one game against UT-Permian Basin due to injury. She played an integral roll in a defense that got a total of seven shut outs and played all 90 minutes in an important victory against Southland Conference rival Oral Roberts. She was only subbed out of two games all season long and teamed with Sarah Parker to form one of the top central defenses in the Southland.
2012 (Freshman): Washington took home Lone Star Conference Second Team honors as a true freshman. She led the team with 1,634 minutes played. She started all 18 games and was only subbed out in three games all year. She played a key role in the team's 4.0 shutouts and 1.24 goals against average. She helped lead the team to the LSC Tournament finals.
High School: Washington earned second team all-district honors as a junior and first team honors as a senior at Centennial High School. Her club team finished third in the nation.
Personal: Washington is the daughter of Lance and Arin Shaw and is studying nursing. She has a sister, Jaedyn Shaw, and was born on May 13, 1994. She hopes to continue on to grad school in the future.
