Jenni Branam

Branam became the third member of the UIW women's soccer staff with University of North Carolina roots when she came on board in the summer of 2013.

Branam's first season with the UIW program was a successful one.  She tutored a pair of sophomore goalkeepers in Heather Kowalik and Karly Brightwell.  The pair combined for seven shutouts in the team's inaugural season as a member of NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference.

In 2014, Branam had her work cut out for her as the Cardinals cycled through three different goalkeepers throughout the season.  Brightwell and Kowalik shared time for the majority of the season with Kowalik finally earning the full-time role midway through the season.  Over the final eight matches of the season, the UIW keepers allowed one goal or less in seven matches and had three shutouts.

Branam is a native of Placentia, CA.  She was a high school and collegiate All-American and played at the highest levels in the professional ranks.  This is her first coaching position.

Branam was a four-year starter at UNC at goalkeeper leading the team to a pair of NCAA Division I Championships and four ACC Tournament titles.  She was an Honorable Mention All-American in 1999 and 2000 and a First Team Freshman All-American in 1999.  She was a Second Team All-ACC selection in 2000 and 2002 and was named to the ACC All-Tournament team in 2002.  She earned First Team All-Southeast Region honors in 1999 and Third Team honors in 2001 and 2002.  She was the Soccer Buzz Southeast Region Freshman of the Year in 1999.  She is second in school history with 132 career saves and posted the fifth best goals against average in school history (0.298) in 1999.

After her collegiate career, Branam went on to play professionally for the San Diego Spirit, Arizona Heatwave, Bälinge IF and Sky Blue FC where she retired in 2011.  She won a championship with Sky Blue in 2009.  She earned six caps for the United States Women's National Team between 2000-06.

Branam graduated from North Carolina in 2003 with a degree in athletic training.  She currently resides in San Antonio.
