2017-2018 (Senior): She played and started in 28 games. She averaged 26.2 minutes a game which was the third most on the team. She averaged 4.5 points a game, 2.5 rebounds a game, and led the team with 73 assists on the year. She had the second most steals on the team with 39. Her season high in points was 11, which was against Houston Baptist and Northwestern State. 

2016-17 (Junior): Merritt played in all 29 games this season, making 26 starts. She finished tied for second on the team in both assists (102) and steals (31). Merritt scored a season-high 16 points against Southeastern Louisiana, while shooting 62 percent from the field. She dished out a season-high 10 assists against LSU-Alexandria.

2015-16 (Sophomore): Merritt was one of only 4 Cardinals to see action in all 29 games. She scored a career-high 21 points, along with 10 assists and 6 rebounds against LSU-Alexandria. Merritt drained 5 three-pointers, including two in the final 3:30, to help lead UIW to victory at Southeastern Louisiana. She picked up 6 steals in a win over Sul Ross and dished out 8 assists against Stephen F. Austin. Merritt scored in double-figures in 5 games and finished the year as the team leader in both assists and steals.

2014-15 (Freshman): Merritt played in 24 games and made 7 starts as a freshman. She scored 14 points in the season opener against Texas Wesleyan. Merritt has a well-rounded performance against Texas Lutheran, with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. She poured in a season-high 18 points and had 3 steals at Abilene Christian, and followed that with 15 points at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Merritt missed 5 games due to an injury. She was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Prior to UIW:

At Cedar Ridge: Merritt played at Cedar Ridge High School for Angela Beck. She earned First Team All-District and 5A All-State honors. Merritt was named Cedar Ridge Best Offensive Player and earned a spot on the “1000-Point Club” her senior year. She led her team to three-consecutive state playoffs as a sophomore, junior and senior. Merritt was named to the Academic All-State Team and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Merritt is the daughter of Rod and Laura Merritt and Leonard and Kathy Casillas. She has a brother, Bruce, and a sister, Kourtney. Born September 4, 1995, she is studying Business Administration. She is a member of the UIW Business Club and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
