2023: Redshirt Sophomore Gonzalez played in nine game for the Cardinals. He tallied 16 tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, one QBH and one pass breakup. 

2022: Gonzalez appeared in 1 game for the Cardinals in 2022 registering 2 tackles and 1 TFL against Faulkner University on October 22 

2021: Gonzalez appeared in 3 games for the Cardinals in 2021, totaling 2 tackles.

High School
Played at Stevens High School under Roger Landeros… had a major role in helping team make significant playoff runs in both 2019 and 2020 by averaging 6.8 tackles a game with a total of 54 tackles during senior season… was selected first team all-district and second team academics.

Started playing football at ten because of parental influences… parents are Jennifer and Fernando Gonzalez… has three brothers, Fernando Jr., Mason, and Nate, who played football at Texas Lutheran University… chose UIW because it was closer to family and would give opportunities to continue to excel on both the field and in the classroom… planning to major in nuclear medicine.
