University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2024 (Senior): Appeared in 23 games of the Cardinals his senior season with three starts. Through 20 at bats, he tallied 10 runs, four hits, one double, one home run, and 15 RBI. 

2023 (Junior): Played in 16 games with 10 starts. He totaled seven runs, seven hits and five RBIs before sitting out the rest of the season due to injury. 

(2022) University of Houston: Appeared in 34 games with 19 starts. Tallied runs on 16 hits aand one homerun and 10 RBIs. Went 2-for-3 at USF with a double and had two games with two RBIs.

(2021) University of Houston: Appeared in 26 games with 52 starts, hitting .152 with four RBIs. He scored three runs and home run and hit .364 (4-for-11) with two outs. He drew five walks on the season and had three hits, two doubles and one homer in the Cincinnati series.

High School: Went to prep school at Van Alstyne where he was named Texas' No. 16 shortstop (Perfect Game), Texas' No. 97 overall player (Perfect Game) and the Nation's No. 175 shortstop (Perfect Game). He was a four-year letter winner in baseball, basketball and track. As a freshman, he was named first-team all district pitcher and sophomore year he was named first-team all district infielder. His junior season, he was second team all-state with a .482 batting average to go along with 32 RBIs and a .604 on-base percentage. He helped his team to the state semifinals in 2019 and was the district offensive MVP his season season. 

Personal: Samuel Isaiah Tormos was born on March 14, 2002 in Dallas to Felix and Eryn Tormos. He has two siblings, Noah and Isabel.
