University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

Benavides a San Antonio native attended St.Mary’s University where he played on the basketball team for four years under Jim Zeleznak. He led the team in assists and steals and led the conference with a 3:1 assist/turnover ratio. 

Benavides graduated from St Mary’s in 2018 with a bachelors degree in Exercise and Sports Science. And obtained his masters in 2021 in Sports Management from the University of Incarnate Word.
