Ben Lang enters his second season as Assistant Coach with the UIW men’s basketball program after joining the team in 2023.
Lang came to San Antonio from Central Michigan, where he worked for two years as Director of Player Development under head coach Tony Barbee. He assisted with all aspects of the program, including player development, opponent scouting, and day-to-day operations.
Prior to his time in Mount Pleasant, Lang served three years as head student manager for the Depaul men’s basketball program under head coach Dave Leitao, where he gained experience at the highest level of college basketball.
While in Chicago, Lang worked as a basketball trainer at Ground Zero, where he helped NBA draft prospects prepare for the next level, while also working with professionals to improve their games.
In 2019, Lang founded and then acted as president and coach of the DePaul University Club Basketball program. He also served as an AAU coach for All In Athletics (2019-20) and as a coach at the Doug Bruno Basketball Camp (2019).
A native of Seattle, Washington, Lang earned his graduate degree in Sports Leadership from Central Michigan in 2023. He earned his bachelor’s in exercise science from Depaul in 2021.
