Players like former Spurs point guard Avery Johnson and New Jersey Nets star Kerry Kittles prepped at St. Augustine, a Catholic high school founded by the Josephite order of priests and brothers. Brown played for head Coach Mitchell Johnson, who was the point guard on that national championship team. Brown was the Senior Class President, did community service, and was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Stem NOLA.
Personal: Brown is the son of Marcia and Charles Brown II and is majoring in TV production at UIW. He has a sister, Christina. He was born on June 8, 1997, in New Orleans.
Coach Cunningham says: "Charles is a young man with strong character and a strong frame, a standout student in the classroom with standout touch on the hardwood. He led the Cardinals in scoring last season and finished second in rebounding while shooting over 47 percent from the field and an eye-popping 52 percent from three. It's fantastic to have a senior leader of his caliber here to help us rebuild and serve as an example for our young roster."
