2014 (Junior):  Lara played in all 11 games as a safety and special teams player.  He recorded six tackles in special teams action and finished the year with 13 total tackles.  He had a season high three tackles at Abilene Christian.

2013 (Sophomore):  Lara was a valuable reserve for the Cardinals.  He played in all 11 games at safety.  He had two tackles, a tackle for loss and two pass breakups in a shutout win over Langston.  He recorded three tackles and recovered a fumble in a win over Eastern New Mexico.  He picked up his first career sack to go with three tackles and a forced fumble at Southeastern Louisiana.  He recovered another fumble against Houston Baptist.  He finished the year with 14 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss.

Previous:  Lara spent a year at Blinn Junior College where he was a red-shirt.

High School:  Lara was on the football, track, basketball and soccer teams at Madison High School.  He earned all-district honors in football.  He was a member of PALS.

Personal:  Lara is the son of Henry Lara and Diana Dotson and is working on a Master's degree in education after earning an undergraduate degree in history.  He has a brother, Cody, who played basketball at UTSA.  His father played football at Abilene Christian and Sam Houston State.   He was born on October 15, 1992.  He volunteers at Agape Christian Church.
