2015 (Junior):  Colbert was a solid performer on special teams and as a backup defensive back.  He registered nine tackles during the season, including two at McNeese State and against Nicholls.  He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2014 (Sophomore):  Colbert appeared in six games as a defensive back and special teams player.  He recorded a half tackle for loss at Stephen F. Austin.  He notched two tackles at Nicholls.  In the season finale he returned two kicks for 43 yards at Lamar.  He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Previous:  Colbert spent one year at Southern Illinois where he red-shirted the 2012 season.  He sat out the 2013 season at UIW in accordance with NCAA transfer rules.

High School:  Colbert was on the football, basketball and track teams at Southwest High School in Fort Worth.  He was the district Newcomer of the Year in 2011 and was a two-time all-district player.  He earned All-Area honors as a junior.  He tallied 10 kick returns for touchdowns and eight interceptions in his career.  He helped lead the track team to a district title and was a two-time Regional qualifier in the long jump, 100 meters and 4x200 relay.  He led the football team to a district championship as a senior and a bi-district title as a junior.

Personal:  Colbert is the son of Lamonte and Ramona Colbert and is studying communication arts.  He has two siblings, Tyler and Tia.  Tyler is also a member of the UIW football team.  He is involved in FCA at UIW. He was born on July 18, 1994.
