Biography

2014 (Junior):  Woods made two starts and came on in relief in three other games.  He went 12-of-25 for 143 yards and a touchdown against Sacramento State in the season opener.  He passed for a season high 186 yards at Stephen F. Austin.  He became only the fifth player in school history to pass for 1,000 career yards.  He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2013 (Sophomore):  Woods was the backup quarterback for the Cardinals and played in four games.  He was 3-for-5 for 47 yards in the win over Texas College.  He caught an 18-yard pass on a trick play in the win at McMurry.  He was 6-for-12 passing for 62 yards on the season.

2012 (Freshman):  Woods appeared in all 11 games and made four starts at quarterback as a true freshman.  He led the team with 95 completions and completed 58.3 percent of his passes.  He went 14-of-26 for 123 and an interception in his first career start against West Texas A&M, the NCAA Division II National Runner-Up.  His first career touchdown pass came at Texas A&M-Kingsville on a 25-yard completion to Andrew Mocio.  He followed that with his best game of the season when he went 22-of-32 for 156 yards and a touchdown against McMurry.  He rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown and passed for 145 yards and a touchdown against Tarleton State.  He completed a pair of touchdown passes for the first time in the game at Angelo State.  He was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School:  Woods was on the football, baseball, basketball and track teams at Fort Bend Austin High School.  He was a three-year starter at quarterback.  He was the 2009 District Newcomer of the Year.  He was named honorable mention all-district as a junior and first team as a senior.  He was a Houston Touchdown Club Award recipient and four year member of the Academic All-District team.  He was an FCA Huddle Leader and earned Presidential Academic Recognition from UIW.

Personal:  Woods is the son of Scott and Heather Woods and is studying business administration.  He had two brothers, Ben and Jake, and a sister, Hannah-Grace.  He was born on April 19, 1994.
