2014 (Junior):  Johnson was a starter from Day 1 for the Cardinals at safety.  He was one of the most consistent players on the team recording at least four tackles in every game.  He finished second on the team with 69 tackles.  He opened his UIW career with five tackles and a sack against Sacramento State.  He registered seven tackles in back-to-back games against Southeastern Louisiana and Houston Baptist.  He broke up a pass and had six stops in a win over Nicholls.  He stepped up and made a career high 11 tackles against Sam Houston State.  He recovered a fumble, broke up a pass and had six tackles at Lamar.

Previous:  Johnson starred at Diablo Valley College where he had 44 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions in 2013.  He returned two of the interceptions for touchdowns.  As a freshman, he had 22 tackles and two interceptions in nine games. 

High School:  Johnson had two strong seasons at Berkeley High School.  He had 43 tackles and forced three fumbles as a senior.  During his junior season he had 62 tackles and five interceptions.  He was also on the baseball team.

Personal:  Johnson is the son of Robert and Lisa Johnson and is studying psychology.  He has a sister, Brittany.  He was born on May 10, 1994.  He has a cousin, Maurice Neal, who played football at Utah.
