High School: Grothaus attended Indian Lake Ohio and was a Kicker for the Lakers, competing in the Central Buckeye Conference. He was named to the All Conference First Team and All District First Team in football. Grathaus graduated top 10 in his graduating class and was named the Athletic Scholar. He was a member of the BPA and FCA clubs.


Personal: Grothaus is the son of Steve and Janet Grothaus, an All -American Swimmer. He has a 20 year-old sister, Jessica and hopes to work for a major sports franchise post graduation.
