University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2021 (Senior): Anyalebechi appeared in all 13 games for UIW this past season. He led the team in total tackles, sacks (3.5) and forced fumbles (4), while being named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week twice. He also had 2 interceptions against Priaire View A&M. Anyalebechi recorded 8 consecutive games with 10 tackles or more, which featured a season high 13 tackles against Northwestern State on October 2. 

He broke the UIW record for total tackles in a season finishing with 130. Anyalebechi was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding defensive player at the NCAA FCS level. Additionally he was named a 3^rd-team FCS All-American for his record breaking season in 2021.

2020 (Junior): (Spring 2021) Played in four games and led the team with 42 tackles (22 solo, 20 assisted) had one tackle for loss…tallied a career high 17 total tackles and forced one fumble at Lamar on March 6...named to the Southland Conference first team.

2019 (Sophomore): Played in all 12 games with four starts…recorded 40 tackles (19 unassisted, 21 assisted)…tied for the team lead with 11.5 tackles for loss for a team-best 54 yards…had a team-high five sacks for 35 yards…also registered three QB hurries…had two forced fumbles (at HBU and at NMSU) and one fumble recovery (at SFA) to contribute to UIW’s 33 takeaways…tallied a season-high eight tackles at HBU and had a season-best 3.0 tackles for loss at UTSA...chipped in 1.5 sacks at SFA.

2018 (Freshman): Played in nine games…posted 10 tackles and three quarterback hurries.
