2014 (Junior): Scelfo started the season as the fourth string quarterback and holder and ended the season as the starting quarterback. His first real opportunity came in the final minute at Northwestern State when he went 3-for-3 for 62 yards and a touchdown. He started against nationally ranked McNeese State and passed for 254 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score. He followed that with a 260-yard, two-touchdown performance in a win at Nicholls. He completed 21 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns against Sam Houston State. He finished the year as the top passer on the team with nearly 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns despite playing slightly more than four games in the position. He posted two of the top six passing games in school history and tied the school record for most pass attempts in a game against Lamar, 44. He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2013 (Sophomore): Scelfo handled the role of holder for the Cardinals. He appeared in all 11 games. He got his only chance at quarterback in the win over Texas College and picked up four yards on two carries. He punted once on the season against Abilene Christian.
2012 (Freshman): Scelfo was on the team, but did not get any game action. He hit .286 in 30 games for the baseball team.
2011: Scelfo red-shirted his first year at UIW. He was named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.
High School: Scelfo played football and baseball at Salpointe Catholic High School in Arizona as a senior at at Cedar Creek School in Ruston, LA as a junior. As a junior, he passed for 1,800 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 500 yards and nine scores. He was the Offensive Player of the Year for all classes in Lincoln Parish. He earned second team all-district and honorable mention All-State 1A honors at quarterback and first team All-Area honors as a punter. In his senior year, he passed for 2,300 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 515 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was the Tucson Citizen 5A Player of the Year while earning second team all-region and first team All-City honors. The Arizona Daily Star named his third team All-City. The Arizona Republic and 24-7football.com named him an honorable mention All-State 5A quarterback.
Personal: Scelfo is the son of Frank and Holly Scelfo and is studying biology. He has one brother and was born on June 1, 1992. He played two years for the UIW baseball team. His father is the quarterbacks coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has worked the Manning Passing Academic Camp for four years.
