Biography

2018 (Senior): Appeared in seven games for the Cardinals… had 65 total all-purpose yards and averaged 9.3 per game, with a season-high 31 yards against New Mexico (Sept. 1)… rushed for 41 yards with a longest gain of eight… put up two major tackles for UIW, with one against SLU (Oct. 6) and facing Lamar (Oct. 13).

2017: (Junior) Played in four games. He had six rushes for four yards. In the return game, Fields had 148 kickoff return yards off eight attempts with a long of 30.  

2016: Played in 10 games...had 32 attempts for 182 yards and three touchdowns... two touchdowns at Lamar were tied for the team high in a single game... averaged 5.6 yards per carry and had a season-best 53 yard run....accumulated 195 all-purpose yards.

2015 (Freshman):  Fields appeared in 10 games as a running back.  In his first career game he carried the ball 13 times for 55 yards against Texas A&M-Kingsville... chipped in nine carries for 48 yards in a win over Northwestern State... scored his first career touchdown at national semifinalist Sam Houston State on a 1-yard plunge.  Finished the season fourth on the team with 216 yards rushing.

2014:  Fields red-shirted his first year at UIW.

High School:  Fields was a member of the football and track teams at Sweeny High School.  He was an Honorable Mention All-State running back in 2013... rushed for 2,179 yards and 33 touchdowns as a senior while catching nine passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns...was the team's offensive MVP and led them to the second round of the playoffs... was on the Superintendant's Honor Roll and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal:  Fields is the son of Dorland and Rholonda Fields and is studying environmental science.  He has a younger brother, Trey, and was born on November 26, 1995.
