Mawyer enters his senior season second on the school’s all-time tackles chart with 178 stops.
 
2011 (Junior):  Mawyer was a mainstay for the defense registering 63 tackles on the season.  He added 5.5 tackles for loss and even a pair of interceptions.  He opened the season with 11 tackles and an interception against East Central.  He made nine stops to go with two tackles for loss and a sack in a win at Texas A&M-Commerce.  He tallied nine tackles and picked off his second pass of the season against Angelo State.
 
2010 (Sophomore):  Despite missing one game, he still piled up 47 tackles on the season.  He had nine tackles, a sack and two pass breakups in an overtime victory against Central Oklahoma.  He picked up six solo stops and a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown in a win at East Central.  He finished the year with two interceptions and 5.5 tackles for loss.
 
2009 (Freshman):  Mawyer posted a strong rookie season with 6.8 tackles per game and 10.0 tackles for loss.  He had nine tackles and a forced fumble in the season opening win over Monterrey Tech.  He registered eight tackles or more on five occasions.  He made eight tackles and had 2.5 tackles for loss and a half sack in a win at Southwest Assemblies of God.  He finished the season strong with eight tackles, a tackle for loss, fumble recovery, pass breakup and a 24-yard interception return.
 
High School:  Mawyer played football and baseball at Smithson Valley High School.  As a senior, he earned honorable mention all-state, second team academic all-state, first team all-city and first team all-district honors.  During his junior year he was named academic all-district and honorable mention all-district.
 
Personal: Mawyer is the son of Drew and Connie Mawyer and is studying engineering management.  He has a sister, Mandi, who played soccer at Central Florida.  He was born on February 19, 1990.
