Matthew Gregg

Matthew Gregg joined the University of the Incarnate Word in 2019 as the football teams Outside Linebacker coach and Special Teams Coordinator. Previously before joining the Cardinals Gregg was a Linebacker coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and Special Teams Coordinator at Kilgore Community College.
 
Since being with the Cardinals Gregg has become a 2x conference champion, mentored 4 All Conference players, and mentored 11 Division 1 players at the HS/Juco level. 
 
 
While at Kilgore CC Gregg helped win a conference championship. During his time as the linebacker coach, he coached Kosi Eldridge currently at Texas Tech, Brian Holloway currently at SMU, Jakorein Barnes currently at UNA, Kenden Jones currently at PVAMU, and Adrian Robertson currently at now at NWST.
 
Making an impact at the high school level has also been one of Gregg’s strengths. Gregg coached at Fort Bend Hightower HS in 2017 as the Outside Linebacker Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. There he coached Hassan Hypolite currently at University of Houston and Christian currently at Duke University. He coached at Van Vleck HS in 2016 as the Linebacker coach and Special Teams Coordinator; there Coached Elery Alexander currently at Arkansas State. Gregg started his coaching career at Bethany HS in 2015 in Bethany, Oklahoma as the Linebacker coach.
 
Gregg is a former collegiate athlete who began his collegiate career at Kilgore Community College as a Linebacker. He also went on to play for Southern Nazarene University as a Linebacker. As a college athlete Gregg became a 1x All American, 3x All Conference, Dream Bowl All-star game selection. SNU single season tackles leader and team captain every year in college.
 
He is an alumnus of Southern Nazarene University, Kilgore Community College, and Fort Bend Hightower High school. Gregg’s hometown is Houston, Texas. He is married to  Morgan Gregg, and they have one daughter together, Sage.
