Larry Moore joined the UIW program prior to the 2011 season as the tight ends coach and academic coordinator.  Heading into 2015, he made the switch over to running backs coach.

As the academic coordinator, the team has consistently posted solid grade point averages.  In the Spring of 2015, the squad posted a 2.86 GPA and had 24 players with at least a 3.50 GPA for the semester.  The team had four players named to the Southland All-Academic Team in 2014.  In 2015, the team had five players named to the all-academic team and 42 to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.  The team's overall GPA in the Spring of 2016 was 2.85 and they had 24 players with at least a 3.50 GPA for the semester.

Moore had his work cut out for him in 2015 with the running backs.  Injuries forced the team to go to its fourth-stringer, Sean Flannel, for some key carries midway through the season.  The top two backs, Junior Sessions and Broderick Reeves, each averaged over 4.5 yards per carry.

In 2014, Moore worked with arguably the best offensive player on the team in tight end Cole Wick.  The junior had 20 catches for 350 yards and set a school record with 17.5 yards per reception.  Under the tutelage of Moore, Wick became a pro prospect.  Wick was an honorable mention all-Southland Conference choice in 2014.

Moore will have a hard time surpassing his 2012 season.  He tutored the first First Team all-conference selection in school history, Andrew Mocio, and as academic coordinator he had 18 players named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and two named to the LSC All-Academic Team.

In his first year with the program in 2011, Moore’s tight ends accounted for a third of the the team’s total receiving yards.  Mocio was the team's second leading receiver and Caleb Kocian set a school record with nine catches in a game.

Moore entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Seattle Seahawks in 1997.  He made his first NFL roster with the Colts the following year when franchise quarterback Peyton Manning arrived in Indianapolis as a rookie. While in Indianapolis, Moore earned the title of team captain. He signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent in 2002, again earning the team captain tag. From the Redskins, Moore made his way to the Bengals for two years in 2004 and 2005 where he would end up retiring from the NFL.

In 1999 Moore was part of the biggest single season turnaround in NFL history with the Colts finishing 13-3 and winning the AFC East.  He wound up starting 73 of 96 NFL regular-season games he played in, a true testament to his work ethic and desire to be great at what he did.

After his NFL career, he jumped into the coaching ranks at Bridgewater College as the tight ends coach.  Following a year at Bridgewater he returned to the NFL and began internships with Cincinnati and Indianapolis.  He assisted with the offensive line of the Bengals in 2009 and with the Colts in 2010.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Moore began his football career at Monte Vista High-School in Spring Valley, California. He attended Grossmont Junior College where he was standout on the football field and in the class room.  He earned All-American honors in 1994 as well as Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.  He was named the Grossmont College Athlete of the Year.  He was inducted into the Junior College Hall of Fame in 2005.

After his second year at Grossmont, Moore turned down offers to Arkansas, Mississippi and others, and decided on BYU. He earned All-WAC both years he played at BYU as well as earning a spot on the Lavelle Edwards Dream Team in 2000.  He graduated with a degree in business management.

Moore has a daughter, Isabella.
