Clinton Thomas joined UIW Athletics in 2010. He serves as the UIW program’s assistant director of football operations and head equipment manager.
Thomas works in a variety of areas with the program. He organizes, performs and directs the necessary tasks that ensure the facility is operational, safe and secure at all times. He also plans and develops both short and long-range goals to support the football operations facility.
In 2014, Thomas' stars and stripes helmet design was named the best-looking stars and stripes helmet by www.footballscoop.com. He has designed current uniforms and apparel for the UIW Football program, which currently has over 20 different uniform combinations, to go along with three different helmet designs. In his six years as the head equipment manager, he has made UIW Football the most appareled football program in the Southland Conference.
The Rockville, Md. and Edwardsville, Ill. native served with the US Army from 1999-05, conducting aviation support for infantry units. He served at Ft. Rucker, Ala., Ansbach, Germany and did combat tours in both Kosovo and Kuwait/Iraq. In 2009-10, Thomas worked in game operations for the San Antonio Spurs and the San Antonio Rampage hockey team. From 2011-2016, he moved to box office and ticket sales with the San Antonio Missions baseball club.
Thomas earned an Associate’s degree from San Antonio College in 2009 and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from UIW in 2012. He completed a Master's degree in Sports Management in 2015.
