2014 (Junior):  Tanksley started the first six games of the year before suffering a season-ending injury.  His best game of the year came at Stephen F. Austin when he had 11 tackles and broke up a pass.  He made six tackles against both Abilene Christian and Houston Baptist.  He finished the year with 32 tackles and eclipsed 100 for his career during the season.

2013 (Sophomore):  Tanksley was the team's leading tackler despite missing one game and only starting in the final five.  He earned College Sports Madness Third Team All-Independent honors.  He had five stops in the season opener at #6 Central Arkansas.  He recovered a fumble in back-to-back games against Eastern New Mexico and at Southeastern Louisiana.  He made a career high 12 tackles, including a tackle for loss at Abilene Christian.  He had eight tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and forced a fumble in a win at McMurry.  He closed out the season with six tackles against both Abilene Christian and Angelo State.  He finished the year with 58 total tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss.

2012 (Freshman):  Tanksley played in all 11 games as a true freshman and made a pair of starts on the season.  He had six tackles and a half tackle for loss at Sam Houston State.  He accounted for six tackles at Midwestern State.  In the win over Texas A&M-Commerce he had five tackles and broke up two passes.

High School:  Tanksley was on the football, basketball and track teams at Morton Ranch High School.  He earned First Team All-District 19-5A honors as a senior.   He was also first team all-district in track.

Personal:  Tanksley is the son of Eric Tanksley and Tanya Woods and is studying criminal justice with a minor in business administration.  He has a sister, Brianna.  He was born on December 28, 1993.  His aunt was a member of the volleyball and basketball teams at Texas Southern.
