Biography

2011 (Junior):  Mocio earned Honorable Mention all-Lone Star Conference honors at tight end and was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.  He became one of the team’s go-to receivers during the year.  He had a reception in nine of 10 games and had at least four catches in four games.  He hauled in six passes for 101 yards in a loss to #22 Midwestern State.  He had six receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown in a loss at Tarleton State.  The following week he caught another touchdown pass and had a 58-yard reception in a loss to Angelo State.  He finished the year with 32 catches for 402 yards.
 
2010 (Sophomore):  Mocio had a solid season as a secondary target at the tight end position.  He had a reception in 10 of 11 games and finished with 21 catches for 233 yards.  He nabbed two passes for 29 yards and his only touchdown of the season in an overtime loss to #10 Midwestern State.  He had a season high four catches for 48 yards in a loss at Angelo State.
 
2009 (Freshman):  Mocio only appeared in six games, but had a reception in all of them.  He had two catches for 32 yards against #24 Midwestern State and snagged three catches in the season finale at Eastern New Mexico.  He finished the season with 10 receptions for 98 yards.
 
High School:  Mocio was a member of the football, track and basketball teams at Waco Reicher Catholic High School.  He was named Super CenTex as a senior tight end and played in the Hillary Football Classic.  He was twice recognized as Super CenTex All-Academic.  He placed third in the 300-meter hurdles at the state meet and earned second team all-district honors in basketball.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude.  He won the Principal’s Leadership and Cougar Spirit awards while also serving on Student Council and as a Reicher Lead Ambassador.
 
Personal:  Mocio is the son of David and Susan Mocio and is studying business finance/journalism.  He has a brother, Nicolas, and a sister, Sara, and he was born on November 7, 1989.  His father played baseball at Panola Junior College and Texas A&M.
