Previous: Played at Coastal Bend College…pitched in 75 innings with a 2.99 ERA…struck out 102 batters while allowing just 45 hits and 25 earned runs.

High School: Played at La Grulla High School…pitched a no-hitter and a 20-strikeout game and finished junior season with 176 total strikeouts…earned first-team All-District as a pitcher and a shortstop.

Personal: The son of Hector and Sanjuanita Martinez…has two sisters, Lizette and Liliana…majoring in Spanish…born February 14, 1999.
