Zach Luevanos

Zach Luevanos joined University of the Incarnate Word baseball program during the 2018 season. He works with the hitters, catchers and outfielders and is the camps coordinator.

Luevanos helped first-year head coach Patrick Hallmark guide the Cardinals to a 29-26 overall record and a 13-15 record in Southland Conference action, marking the most overall and conference wins since becoming Division I and joining the Southland Conference. UIW also recorded a league-leading .292 batting average and a conference-best .395 on-base percentage.

Prior to joining the Cardinals, Luevanos helped coach the Our Lady of the Lake University baseball team in January 2017.

From 2014-16, Luevanos focused his time in training and managing training facilities in Beaumont, Texas, where he served as Director of Baseball Operations for two local baseball training facilities.

Luevanos served as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Lamar University, under head coach Jim Gilligin during the summer and fall of 2013.

Prior to working as a graduate assistant, Luevanos played for Lamar for two season, garnering All-Southland honorable mention honors as a senior in 2013.

The Corpus Christi, Texas, native played for two years at Seminole State after an illustrious high school career at Corpus Christi Carroll where he posted .448 batting average and hit two home runs as senior and batted .420 with four homers as junior.

Luevanos earned a degree in general studies from Lamar in May, 2012.
