Jake Arledge was announced as the volunteer assistant coach on August 26, 2019. He will be in charge of outfielders and assist with hitting and base running.
Arledge joins UIW after spending the 2018-2019 season as the assistant coach at Angelina Junior College in Lufkin, Texas. At Angelina, he worked with the fielder's on defense and helped with hitting and baserunning. Additionally, Arledge worked with the team in the weight room. Prior to Angelina, Arledge was the student assistant coach at University of Arkansas.
The Huntington Beach, Calif., Arledge was a starting outfielder for the Arkansas Razorbacks for the last two seasons of his collegiate playing career. Prior to Arkansas, he played at Panola Junior College his sophomore year, where he was named to the NJCAA Region 14 First-Team All-Region team. Arledge spent his freshman year playing for California Baptist.
PERSONAL
He earned his bachelor’s in sociology from the University of Arkansas in 2018.
