2022: Appeared in all 14 games for the Cardinals. He led the team with 18 receiving touchdowns, averaging 88.86 yards per game. Had a season-high three touchdowns against Furman in the second round of the FCS playoffs. Named to the 2022 All-American Third Team, 2022 Southland All-Conference First Team and the 2022 Phil Steel All-America Team.

2021: Appeared in all thirteen games for UIW. Chafin had 59 catches for 771 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Had a season high seven receptions in back-to-back games against HBU and SLU. HBU with 75 yds and one touchdown; SLU with 142 yds and two touchdowns. Chafin ended the season with two touchdowns, one being a season high of 48-yards in the playoff game against Sam Houston State on December 4.

2020 (Junior): (Spring 2021) Appeared in all six games with 27 catches for 373 yards and four touchdowns...had a season high seven receptions for 87 yards and one touchdown against Northwestern State on April 10...scored on a 56-yard touchdown at McNeese on February 27.

Previous: Played two seasons at Cisco College…in six games as a sophomore in 2019…had 21 catches for 396 yards and four touchdowns…averaged 18.9 yards per catch…had a long reception of 39 yards…appeared in nine games as a freshman in 2018…recorded 18 catches for 418 yards and four touchdowns…averaged 23.2 yards per catch…had a long catch of 47 yards.
 
High School: Played at Burkburnett High School in Wichita Falls, Texas… as a senior, caught 54 passes for 862 catches and eight touchdowns… averaged 16.0 yards per catch and had a long reception of 72 yards… chipped in six kick returns for 98 yards to finish the year with 966 all-purpose yards… also had 11 solo tackles on defense… scored one two-point conversion… as a junior, had two receptions for 57 yards, averaged 28.5 yards per catch… had a long catch of 36 yards… was 2-2 on extra-point attempts.
