University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2021: Wellington appeared in 4 games for UIW in 2021. He most notably recorded 3 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss and 0.5 sacks against Stephen F. Austin University on November 27. 

2020 (Junior): (Spring 2021)  Played in all six games recording 11 tackles (6 unassisted, five assisted)...had 0.5 tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery.

Previous: Played one year at Blinn College under Ryan Mahon in Brenham, Texas… played in eight games and had 15 tackles… registered 2.5 tackles for loss for 17 yards… amassed one pass breakup.
 
High School: Played at Estacado High School under Joe Cluley in Lubbock, Texas… helped guide team to a 10-2 overall mark and a perfect 3-0 record in district play en route to a district championship as a senior… finished career with 111 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks… earned all-district honors as a junior and as a senior… also selected District MVP as a senior… tallied all-state accolades as a senior… as a senior, recorded 56 tackles, including 8.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks… had 49 tackles with 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks to help lead team to the second round of the playoffs as a junior… tallied six tackles as a sophomore.

Full name is Royce Lee Wellington Jr… started playing football at seven years old… Parents are Winona Rainey and Royce Wellington Sr… has two sisters… plans to major in engineering with the goal of owning a highly profitable cattle ranch.
