Biography
2020-21 (Sophomore): Appeared in 19 games with seven starts while battling injury…played 472 minutes…led the Cardinals with an 81.8% free throw shooting percentage (36-for-44)…scored in double figures in seven games…averaged 8.0 points per game on 41.6% shooting (47-for-113) and a 32.8% mark beyond-the-arc (22-for-67)…tallied 152 total points in the season with 90 rebounds, 42 assists and 24 steals helping the Cardinals to their first appearance in the Southland Conference Tournament…scored a season-high 18 points against New Orleans on March 1 and a season-high seven assists at New Orleans on Jan. 9…ranks fourth all-time with an 86.4% free throw percentage.
2019-20 (Freshman): Appeared in all 31 games with 30 starts at guard…led the team in minutes (998), free throws (78-for-88), free throw percentage (.886), assists (108) and steals (38)…108 assists tied UIW program freshman record…led the Southland Conference and posted the program’s seventh-best single-season mark for a .886 free throw percentage…has 11th-most minutes played in a season…recorded three 20-point games, including a career-best 25 points while adding four assists and four steals against Lamar on Jan. 22…scored more than ten points in 20 games…scored 16 points in debut against Missouri…had 20 points and five assists in a game against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 24.
High School: Helped lead Penn High School of Mishawaka, Indiana, to a 26-5 record and a final-four berth in the Indiana 4A boys’ basketball state championship tournament during senior year...averaged 18.7 points and 7.2 assists per game...shot 45.2% from the floor, 82.2% from the free throw line and 34.8% from behind the three-point arc...averaged 2.5 steals per game...scored 1,077 career points and recorded 415 assists…President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes...member of the academic honor roll.
Personal: The son of Spencer and Peggy Lutz...has two older sisters, Ashley and Taylor, and an older brother Ryan…Taylor played basketball at Grand Valley State…Ashley and Ryan played basketball at Bethel…a communications major.

He turned in a flat-out excellent high school career at Penn, where he led the Kingsmen to the school’s first regional title in 13 years. He plays with moxie, passes with precision and timeliness, and can shoot the apple. He manages the books with aplomb and also possesses strong character.”
