University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2017: Played in all 11 games as the primary punter for the Cardinals. He punted 77 times and posted an average of 46.7 yards a punt. He had a long punt of 75 yards which he booted in the first game of the season against Fresno State. Zema had great success punting 50+ yards which he did on 31 occasions. He forced 22 fair catches and backed opponents up by pinning the ball inside the 20 on 20 occasions. He only had 5 touchbacks and one punt blocked. His best punting average in a game came against Nicholls as he averaged 50.8 yards a punt. Zema racked up awards and garnered recognition after the season. He was named to the All-Southland Conference First-Team, 2017 AP FCS All-America First Team, ADA Stats All-America First Team, 2017 AFCA FCS Coaches' All-America Team, HERO Sports 2017 FCS All-America Team, 2017 Walter Camp FCS All-America Team and  American Football Coaches Association All-America Second Team. He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.90 GPA. 

Previous: Zema graduated from Australian Catholic University in 2015 with a degree in Exercise Sport Science.

High School: Zema graduated from Whitefriars in 2012 and was awarded Full Colours in Australian Rules in football and Cricket in 2010. He was also awarded Academic Endeavor in 2009.  

Personal: Zema was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and is the son of Nick and Antonietta Zema. He has one brother, Matthew, 20.
