Biography

2017: Appeared in all 11 games. He caught 11 passes for 263 yards. He averaged a team high 23.9 yards a reception. Brooks also had the team season high for the longest reception which resulted in a 81 yard touchdown against Prairie View A&M. 

2016: Appeared in all 11 games. He caught 19 passes for 173 yards, good for 9.1 yards per catch. He averaged 15.7 yards per game, had one touchdown, and had a season long of 36 yards.

2015:  Brooks red-shirted the season.

2014 (Sophomore):  Brooks played in all 11 games and made eight starts at wide reciever.  He had at least two receptions in each of his last six games.  He hauled in five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown at Nicholls.  He also had touchdown grabs against Sam Houston State and at Lamar.  Over the final three weeks of the season he had 12 grabs for 118 yards and three touchdowns.

2013 (Freshman):  Brooks quickly moved into a starting role at wide receiver playing in all 11 games and receiving six first team appearances.  He had a season-long 39-yard reception at #6 Central Arkansas in the season opener.  He scored his lone touchdown of the season in the home opener against Texas College with a 31-yard reception.  He had multiple receptions in each of the final three weeks of the season, including three catches for 31 yards in a win over Abilene Christian.  He finished the year with 11 receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown.

High School:  Brooks was on the football, basketball and track teams at Teague High School.  He helped lead his team to an 8-4 record and appearance in the Area Finals as a senior.  He was named first team all-district as a wide receiver and defensive back and took home Super Cen-Tex Honorable Mention honors at wide receiver.  He had 40 catches for 743 yards and eight touchdowns receiving and seven rushing touchdowns.  In addition, he had 50 tackles and four interceptions on defense.  In his junior season, he was a second team all-district quarterback after passing for 920 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushing for 880 yards and 14 touchdowns.  He was named the district offensive MVP in basketball as a junior and was a first team all-district player as a sophomore.  He averaged 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a senior.

Personal:  Brooks is the son of Daryl Brooks and Tamica Carter and is studying engineering management.  He has three siblings; Tanequa, Keivontrae and Aalaijah.  He was born on January 10, 1995.
