Biography

2013 (Junior): Johnson missed only two games for the Cardinals in their debut season in Division I. She was named onto the College Sports Madness 2013 Southland Preseason All-Conference team and continued to be an important part of the Cardinals' midfield. Although she scored only two goals in the season, she fired a total of 31 shots and offered one assist. Her first goal of the year was in a game that took Texas Southern by storm and came after a spree of goals that took the Cardinals to a 7-1 win at Benson Stadium. She took over corner kick duties late in the season.  She was named onto the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2012 (Sophomore): Johnson missed one game during the season, but started the remaining 17. She earned Lone Star Conference Second Team honors after scoring three goals and dishing out four assists during the year. She scored her first goal of the year at Midwestern State when she found the net from outside the 18-yard box to tie the game at 1-1 just 18 seconds after MSU scored. She handed out a pair of assists in a 3-0 win over West Texas A&M. She scored the game-winning goal against Eastern New Mexico when she found the back of the net just 35 seconds into the second half. She put the Cardinals up 2-1 with less than 14 minutes remaining in regulation against West Texas A&M in the conference title game, a match they would lose 3-2 in double overtime. She was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2011 (Freshman): Johnson not only tied for the team lead in scoring, but also played three games in goal while posting a 1-0-1 record. She scored four goals and had two assists while posting a 1.27 GAA in 212 minutes of action. She scored the game-winning goal less than a minute into overtime at Texas A&M-International. She scored her second goal two days later in a tie against Truman State. She notched her first career assist in a comeback victory over Texas Woman’s. She started the final two games of the season in goal picking up a win at West Texas A&M and a tied at Angelo State.

High School: Johnson led her club team to a pair of state titles and two berths into the ECNL national tournament.

Personal: Johnson is the daughter of Craig and Tammy Johnson and is studying engineering management. Her sister, Samantha, played four years for the Cardinals. She was born on June 22, 1993 and is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
