2013 (Junior):  Shaffer was a workhorse for the Cardinals pitching in 17 games and starting eight.  After lasting 0.1 innings in his first career game and taking a loss, he went 4-0 the rest of the season.  He earned his first victory of the season by tossing 6.0 solid innings against Colorado Christian allowing seven hits, four runs and a walk while striking out seven.  He allowed one earned run in 7.0 innings against Abilene Christian to earn a win.  He tossed a perfect inning of relief at St. Mary's and struck out the side.

Previous:  Shaffer was a two-time first team pitcher at Everett Community College in Washington.

High School:  Shaffer played baseball and basketball at Nathan Hale High School.

Personal:  Shaffer is the son of Brad and Melissa Shaffer and is studying marketing.  He has two siblings, Sam and Hannah.  He was born on October 14, 1991.
