University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

2013 (Sophomore):  Boss was named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team.  He was named the LSC and NCBWA South Central Region Pitcher of the Week following a win against Colorado Christain where he pitched 6.0 shutout innings allowing two hits and one walk while strikingout seven.  He toss 4.0 hitless innings of relief en route to earning his only save of the year in an 8-7 win over Florida Southern.  He struck out a season high nine batters in only 5.0 innings at UH-Victoria.  He made five quality starts on the season (at least 6.0 IP and 3 runs or fewer).  He tossed a 6.0-inning masterpiece against Cameron allowing two hits and three walks without a run while striking out seven.  He struck out eight in a 3-2 win over Eastern New Mexico.  He finished the year with a 4-7 record and one save.  He was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the second time.

2012 (Freshman):  Boss earned Second Team All-Lone Star Conference honors on the mound as a true freshman after going 4-3 with three saves.  He finished second in the conference in earned run average with a 2.28 mark.  He made 15 total appearances with 10 coming out of the bullpen.  He notched his first career save when he tossed a scoreless inning against St. Mary's.  He went 6.0 scoreless inning at LSC champion Angelo State, but was stuck with a no-decision.  He recorded his first win on March 30 when he came on in relief at Cameron and went 6.0 innings allowing one hit and two walks while striking out 10.  He struck out 10 in his next outing, a 5-3 loss to Tarleton State despite allowing just two earned runs in 7.0 innings.  He picked up a win and a save in a weekend series at Eastern New Mexico throwing a total of 6.0 innings and striking out 10 without allowing a run.  He recorded a victory over West Texas A&M in the conference tournament when he threw 5.0 innings of relief and allowed just a single run.  He struck out 64 batters in 55.1 innings for the year.  He was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.  He was named the LSC Diamond Pitcher of the Week on April 2 and April 16.

High School:  Boss was an all-district pitcher at Boerne High School and also played basketball.

Personal:  Boss is the son of Michael Boss and Deedee Rodes and is studying business administration.  He has a brother, Cade, and a sister, Kamryn.  He was born on January 7, 1992.
