Biography

2015 (Junior): McKinney played an important role with the Cardinals in 2015. She was one of eight players to play over 1,000 minutes. She played in 18 games and started in 13 of them. She had her first collegiate assist at Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 25.

2014 (Sophomore): McKinney played in both a defensive and midfield role in her sophomore year and continued to be an important part of the Cardinals line up. She started in a total of 12 contests, but played minutes in all 18 of the UIW games. She scored her lone goal of the season, a game winner, in a 2-0 shutout against McNeese State. She put away a deflected ball for a 1-0 lead.  She fired two shots on goal against UT-Pan American and at Prairie View A&M.  She played all 110 minutes in a tie against A&M-Corpus Christi and played at least 80 minutes in six different contests.  She was named to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2013 (Freshman): As a true freshman, McKinney played in the midfield in all 19 games for the Cardinals and made three starting appearances. She scored her first career goal in a historic 4-2 win against Nicholls State, the Cardinals first Southland Conference win of the season. After coming into the game in the second half she scored on her very first touch, heading a cross into the back of the net. She scored two goals after taking just eight shots in the season. She was named on to the Southland Commissioner's Honor Roll.

High School:  McKinney was on the soccer team at A.C. Jones High School.  She was the District 57-4A Most Valuable Player as a junior and was a four-time first team all-district performer.  She was first team all-region as a junior and senior and earned second team honors as a freshman.  During her freshman year she was named the District 57-4A Co-Offensive MVP and the All-South Texas Newcomer of the Year.  She led Jones to back-to-back appearances in the Regional Semifinals.  She was a four time academic all-district selection and earned Academic All-State honors in 2013.  She was the senior class vice president and a National Honor Society Parliamentarian.  She played for the Lady Lions '95 Club team.

Personal:  McKinney is the daughter of Ellis and Sarah McKinney and is studying business administration.  She has five siblings; Maggie, Mollie, Morgan, Paige and Claire.  She is part of a set of triplets along with Paige and Claire who were born on November 6, 1994.
