Biography

2015 (Sophomore):  Brittain guided the team to a winning record and fourth place finish in the Southland Conference.  He earned Southland Conference honorable mention and all-academic team honors.  He was named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week on October 5 after accounting for five touchdowns in a win over Northwestern State.  He was 20-of-32 for 259 yards and two scores through the air and carried the ball eight times for 58 yards and three touchdowns.  He opened the season with 109 yards rushing and a passing touchdown in a win over Texas A&M-Kingsville.  He nearly led the team to an upset win at UTEP.  He passed for 295 yards and two touchdowns, including a 90-yard touchdown pass to Jamari Gilbert and finished with 355 yards of total offense.  In a Sunday afternoon win over Abilene Christian, he passed for a school record 368 yards and tallied a school record 392 yards of total offense.  He picked up 88 yards on the ground and passed for 178 yards in the rain in an upset win at Southeastern Louisiana.  He posted his second 300-yard passing performance of the season against Lamar.  He tallied four of the longest runs of the season for the team with runs of 47, 57, 58 and 62 yards.  He set school records for completions, pass attempts, passing yards and total offense finishing the year with 407 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground and 2,254 yards and nine scores through the air.  He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2014:  Brittain was named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Quarterback Watch List prior to the season.  He suffered a season-ending injury in the first quarter against Sacramento State and received a medical red-shirt.  He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2013 (Freshman):  Brittain was one of the top freshmen in the nation and was named to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List and CFPA National Freshman of the Year Watch List.  He had a record-breaking season by tying or breaking seven single season school marks.  His totals of 178 completions, 325 pass attempts, 1893 passing yards and 2285 yards of total offense were each school records.  He also tied the school record with 11 passing touchdowns.  He was 15-of-18 for 211 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Texas College and set the UIW single game records for completion percentage and passer rating.  He passed for 197 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 97 more yards in a win over Langston.  He attempted 106 passes in the season before finally throwing his first career interception in a loss at Sam Houston State.  He also had two touchdowns and passed for 226 yards in the game.  He completed a school-record 90-yard touchdown pass to Clint Killough in a win over Eastern New Mexico the following week.  He directed the team on a pair of fourth quarter game-winning drives at McMurry and at home against Abilene Christian in back-to-back weeks.  In the ACU win, he scored on a 1-yard run on fourth down with 1:59 remaining in the game.  He was 22-of-33 for 207 yards and two touchdowns through the air and added the rushing touchdown on the ground against ACU.  He finished the season as the team's third leading rusher with 392 yards on 117 carries.

2012:  Brittain red-shirted his first year at Incarnate Word.

High School:  Brittain earned First Team All-State honors at Eastland High School at quarterback.  He was the All-Big Country All Sports MVP and the Built Ford Tough 2A Player of the Year as a senior.  He also played basketball, baseball and ran track.

Personal:  Brittain is the son of Jeff and Carol Brittain and earned a degree in criminal justice in May.  He is currently pursuing a Master's degree.  He has a sister, Megan, and a brother, Jayden.  He was born on September 8, 1993.
